CE7/DL2OE ---> Owing to a case of homonymy that resulted in a honest
misunderstanding, over the Easter weekend Mike, CE7/DL2OE was not active
from Isla San Pedro in the SA-053 IOTA group, but from the Isla San Pedro
included in the Chiloe Archipelago (SA-018). "I apologize to all IOTA
hunters for this great mistake", Mike says, "but I cannot change this
situation". [TNX EU7A]

SOUTH ORKNEY ISLANDS 2020 ---> The Northern California DX Foundation
(http://www.ncdxf.org) has announced it will be a major contributor to the
Perseverance DX Group's February-March 2020 DXpedition to the South Orkney
Islands (https://sorkney.com/) [425DXN 1455]. "With the cost of ships, fuel,
and freight continuing to rise the future of major DXpeditions rests in the
hands of the worldwide DX community", the PDXG says. "We appreciate the
Foundation's generosity and their confidence in our project team and plans".
The primary purpose of NCDXF is to help fund well-organized DXpeditions to
rare, difficult and expensive DXCC Entities like the South Orkneys
(currently #16 on Club Log's Most Wanted List). Since 2016, NCDXF-supported
DXpeditions activated five of the ten most-needed Entities, and during the
last 47 years NCDXF has granted nearly $1.2 million to hundreds of
DXpeditions.

THE FT4 PROTOCOL FOR DIGITAL CONTESTING ---> The following announcement was
posted by Joe Taylor, K1JT to the WSJT software development mailing list on
22 April:
"Soon after the 'FT8 Roundup' held on December 1-2, 2018, we started serious
work on a faster, more contest-friendly digital mode that can compete with
RTTY-contesting QSO rates while preserving many of the benefits of FT8. The
result is FT4 - a new digital mode specifically designed for radio
contesting.
Over the past month a small group of volunteers have been conducting on-the-
air tests of FT4. The early tests were very successful and helped us to make
a number of important design decisions. We believe FT4 has considerable
promise for its intended purpose.
We'll soon be ready for testing by a larger group. If you might be
interested in participating and offering your considered feedback, please
read the descriptive document "The FT4 Protocol for Digital Contesting",
posted here: http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1j ... otocol.pdf.
We plan to post downloadable installation packages for WSJT-X 2.1.0-rc5 on
April 29. The document linked above includes
- Instructions for installing WSJT-X 2.1.0-rc5 and FT4 configuration
- Operating instructions for FT4
- Basic description of the FT4 protocol, modulation, and waveform
- Detailed sensitivity measurements for FT4 under a wide variety of
  simulated propagation conditions
- Schedule for upcoming test sessions"

TQSL: NEW VERSION ---> A new version (v2.4.7) of LoTW's Trusted QSL (TQSL)
has been released: http://www.arrl.org/tqsl-download. This version corrects
a defect in the Windows autoupdate process when performing the download and
install of a new version. Because this defect was present in TQSL v2.4.4,
v2.4.5 and v2.4.6 , those versions are unable to automatically update
themselves to v2.4.7. In order to upgrade, users with those versions of
TQSL installed must manually download and install TQSL v2.4.7 from here:
http://www.arrl.org/files/file/LoTW%20I ... -2.4.7.msi
