A SPECIAL MOTHER'S DAY EVENT FOR UKRAINE: EA4/UT5UY ---> "Tens of thousands
of mothers and children have left their home without a father, heading to
the safety of nearby countries and away from the war-zone. At the same time
the Ukrainian men stayed behind, defending their homeland from this unex-
pected attack on their country.
Amateur Radio was suspended in Ukraine on 24 February 2022, but now there is
an allowance obtained to transmit amateur radio remotely, by using an
Ukraine CEPT license as long as the RF emissions are not from the Ukrainian
soil.
Well-known DXpeditioner Alex, UT5UY went on the air on 4 May as EA4/UT5UY
using a remote station in Madrid (Spain). Amateur Radio will also be used
during the upcoming Mother's Day when Alex will greet his wife, Sasha and
his 12 year old son Daniel, currently living in Finland. This is in line
with IARU's theme 'Never Alone', and showcasing the fact that Amateur Radio
has an important role even during the world's most turbulent times.
You can join Alex and his family on the air, on Saturday, 7 May on 14260 KHz
at 11.00 UTC and again at 15.00 UTC, and give Alex your moral support that
he and his family needs during these dire times.
Alex is ever grateful to Fred, WW4LL from BeLoud.US, as well as to Jerry,
WB9Z for providing him this remote station opportunity and for bringing him
back to the amateur radio brotherhood, at a time when moral and material
support is needed the most.
Warmest regards,
Adrian (LA/KO8SCA), Martti (OH2BH), Pasi (OH2MZB), Pekka (OH2TA) and Timo
(OH5LLR)".

BALTIC CONTEST ---> Citing the "current geopolitical situation in Europe"
and "Ukraine's inability to participate in radio sports competitions", the
Lithuanian Radio Sports Federation has announced that 58th edition of the
Baltic Contest, which was due to be held on 21-22 May, has been cancelled
(https://www.lrsf.lt/en/).

QSL GALLERY ---> The large collection of QSL cards on Les Nouvelles DX's
website has been updated. Sixteen different galleries include 19,743 cards
for the ten Most Wanted DXCC Entities (2012-21), the 62 deleted DXCC
Entities, obsolete prefixes, stations from Maghreb from 1945 to 1962,
Allied Forces stations in Germany (1945-80), special stations commemorating
ITU and IARU, stations using the United Nations prefix (4U), Antarctic bases
and TAAF (Terres Australes and Antarctiques Francaises), the various French
DXCC island Entities in the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Americas
(from 1945 to 1969), pre-1945 countries, French Departments and CONUS, plus
a gallery for cards not accepted by DXCC. Your participation is encouraged:

ROCKALL 2022: POSTPONED ---> "Unfortunately, it is now highly likely the
Rockall trip will be postponed for a year", DX World reported on 1 May.
"Sadly, the team has not been able to secure the correct type of vessel.
Currently, their only hope is for a cancellation (of another boat) and
that's unlikely at this late stage. Rescheduled dates to be announced in the
future". This year's trip was expected to take place on 6-19 June [425DXN
1599], and Nobby, G0VJG aimed to be QRV from the island (EU-189) as MM0UKI/p
for a couple of days during that time frame.

YASME FOUNDATION GRANT ---> The Board of Directors of the Yasme Foundation
has announced that it made a grant for the purchase of amateur radio equip-
ment and accessories for the Seychelles Amateur Radio Association (SARA)
club station. SARA was voted into IARU membership in late 2019. Since that
time, membership has grown to thirty-three members, with fifteen holding S79
licenses. The club finished construction of a club building and meeting area
earlier this year. Previous Yasme grants provided support for license exam
fees and construction of club facilities. [TNX K4ZW]
