3C     - Effective  26 September, 3C3CA  is  the callsign that  Ersoy, TA2OM
         will be using during his stay on  Bioko Island (AF-010), Equatorial
         Guinea. He was previously active as 3C/TA2OM [425DXN 1638].  In his
         limited spare time he operates mainly FT8. QSL via TA2OM.
7Q     - Don, K6ZO will be active again as 7Q6M from Malawi between 19 Octo-
         ber and 29 November.  He will be QRV on 160-6 metres, and will par-
         ticipate  in the  CQ WW DX SSB and CW  Contests.  QSL via LoTW,  or

DL     - In celebration  of  its  50th anniversary,  DARC  Ortsverband  Syke
         (DK0SY)  will be active  with special  DOK "50i25"  from  1 October
         until 31 December.  On 2 October the DK0SY operators will take part
         in the DLFF Activity Day  and be active as  DF0WFF and DF0DFF  from
         Nature Reserve DLFF-0188. QSL via the bureau. [TNX DL2VFR]
F      - Michel, F8GGZ  and other operators  will be active as  TM100BBC  on
         10-24 October  to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the  British
         Broadcasting Corporation (18 October 1922). Activity will be on all
         modes, including EME and DMR C4FM. QSL via F8GGZ, direct or bureau.
F      - The  Association des Radio Amateurs de la Cote d'Emeraude  will  be
         active as TM8R from 27 October to 6 November for the 12th "Route du
         Rhum", the 3000-mile single-handed transatlantic yacht race between
         Saint-Malo (France) and  Pointe-a-Pitre (Guadeloupe).  QSL via Club
         Log's OQRS, LoTW, or via F5BNJ.
FG     - Manfred DK1BT,  Wolf DL4WK,  Annette DL6SAK,  Tom DL7BO,  and Frank
         DL7UFR will be active as  TO2DL  from Guadeloupe (NA-102)  on 10-23
         October.  They will operate CW, SSB and digital modes on 160-10 me-
         tres (60m included)  with three stations.  QSL via DL7DF (direct or
         bureau)  and  LoTW  "within six months  after the DXpedition".  See

FO/A   - Haru, JA1XGI will be active as TX5XG from  Raivavae (OC-114),  Aus-
         tral Islands on 2-9 November. He will operate CW, SSB, RTTY and FT8
         F/H on 160, 80, 40, 30, 20, 15 and 10m.  All QSOs will be confirmed
         automatically via the bureau and LoTW; otherwise QSL via Club Log's

IS0    - Marco, IS0BSR will be active as IM0B from the island of  San Pietro
         (EU-165) from  22 October to 5 November,  including an entry in the
         CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL only via LoTW.
JW     - Look for  JW7XK (QSL via LA7XK and LoTW),  JW9DL (QSL via LA9DL and
         LoTW) and  JW6VM (QSL via LA6VM)  to be active  from  the  Svalbard
         Amatorradio Klub (JW5E) in Longyearbyen (EU-026),  on 5-10 October.

ON     - The ONZ Oostkust Radioclub (ON6HC)  will be active on all bands and
         modes  as  OR78CLM  between  14 October and 13 November,  with main
         operations  taking place on  4-6 November.  The special  callsign's
         suffix stands for  Canadian Liberation March, the annual event that
         celebrates the liberation of the Belgian town of Knokke on 1 Novem-
         ber 1944.  QSL via the bureau.  A certificate  will  be  available:

V4     - Upcoming activities from St. Kitts (NA-104) include
         * V47JA by John, W5JON on 2-12 October. He will operate SSB and FT8
           on 160-6 metres. QSL via LoTW, or direct only to W5JON.
         * V47T by Randy, K5ZD  from 23 October to 1 November,  including an
           entry in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via LoTW.
         * V48DM by  Matt, K4KIU  and David, HC5DX from  25 October to 1 No-
           vember. They will operate SSB and CW on 160-6m, and will partici-
           pate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via LoTW. or direct to
           N4GNR.
VP2M   - Look  for  Larry K5LDA (VP2MDA),  Lee  K7NM (VP2MLB),  Mike  WA5POK
         (VP2MOK),  Cliff KD6XH (VP2MXH),  Cheryl KM4TYV (VP2MYV)  and Glenn
         AC7ZN (VP2MZN) to be active from Montserrat (NA-103) on 13-20 Octo-
         ber.  They will operate CW, SSB, FT8 and FT4 on  160-6 metres.  QSL

VP8    - Garry, ZC4GR (2M1DHG) has been active as VP8DLB from  Port Stanley,
         Falkland Islands (SA-002) since 23 September, and will remain there
         "until December before returning to Cyprus". QSL via EB7DX. [TNX DX

W      - Special event stations N0F, N1F, N2F, N3F, N4F, N5F, N6F, N7F,  N8F
         and N9F, plus KF2IRE  and VE3FIRE (Canada)  will be active on  9-15
         October for the Fire Prevention Week 2022. QSL cards for any of the

W      - Look for Mike, W7LG  to be active as  W7LG/4  from  Hatteras Island
         (NA-067) on  24-29 October.  He will operate  SSB, CW, FT4 and  FT8
         mainly on 80, 40 and 20 metres. QSL via home call, LoTW and eQSL.

THE TRANSATLANTIC CENTENARY TESTS ---> The  Radio Society  of  Great Britain
will be hosting an international amateur radio activation on the HF bands to
celebrate the centenary of the achievement of amateur transatlantic communi-
cation during the Transatlantic Tests that were held between  1921 and 1923.
In anticipation of this  centenary celebration,  the RSGB have renewed  five
callsigns which they held in the 1920s.
* G5WS: used by the RSGB from Wandsworth, South London, 5WS was the callsign
        of the first European amateur radio station  to be heard  across the
        Atlantic during the third Transatlantic Tests (24 December 1922).
* G5AT: 5AT was the RSGB HQ callsign, activated in the fourth  Transatlantic
        Tests of December 1923 and successfully heard in North America.
* G6XX: activated in the fourth Transatlantic Tests, 6XX was given a special
        permit to use an input power of 1kW.
* G6ZZ: used on 5 July 1924, 6ZZ was the callsign of the "Scotch Express" on
        its journey from London to Newcastle; it was the first experiment in
        operating an amateur radio station from a moving railway train.
* G3DR: historic callsign,  previously held by the RSGB as GM3DR  for use in
        the Scottish Highlands.
Look for  G5WS, G5AT, G6XX, G6ZZ  and  G3DR (England),  GD5WS (Isle of Man),
GI5WS (Northern Ireland), GJ5WS (Jersey), GM5WS (Scotland), GU5WS (Guernsey)
and GW5WS (Wales) to be activated on  1-31 December.  QSLs via  M0OXO's OQRS
and LoTW.  A series of awards  will be available;  full details will be pub-

3Y0J: LATEST NEWS ---> The 3Y0J team (13 operators) will depart Port Stanley
(Falkland Islands)  on  13 January 2023.  They  anticipate  to reach  Bouvet
Island on or  around 26 January,  and to remain there for at least  22 days.
Their budget has increased slightly;  now it is  around USD $705,000,  which
means that they still  "only need USD 35,000 to balance.  Please consider to

IDXC 2023 ---> Registration  is now open for the  74th International DX Con-
vention,  to be held at the  Visalia Conference Center on  21-23 April 2023.

ITU NEWS ---> Member States  of  the  International Telecommunication Union,
the United Nations  specialized  agency  for  information  and communication
technologies, have elected  Doreen Bogdan-Martin  as the organization's next
Secretary-General. The election took place during ITU's Plenipotentiary Con-
ference in Bucharest, Romania, on 29 September. Ms Bogdan-Martin will assume
office on 1 January 2023.  She will be the  first woman  to lead ITU  in its
157-year history, and only the  third Secretary-General  to hold an  amateur
radio license ((KD2JTX).

QSL VIA EA5GL ---> Pedro, EA5GL has picked up the QSLing for the IOTA opera-
tions of XR5JA from Isla Quiriquina (SA-070, December 2014) and  3G9JA  from
Isla Hornos (SA-031, January-February 2016).  He already has the logs and is
going to have  new QSL cards printed.  See https://www.qrz.com/db/EA5GL  for

V3E ---> An IOTA operation was expected  to take place from  Turneffe Atoll
(NA-123) on 19-23 October. The DXpedition, however, has been cancelled "due
to certain  circumstances",  Hernan, V31DX announced on  26 September.  "We
need to replan after the hurricane season", he adds, "but on another island
under different IOTA reference".
