A6 - Members of the Emirates Amateur Radio Society will be active as
A60PC (QSL via EA7FTR) on 17-30 June. Also expect activity by
A60PC/0, A60PC/1, etc. (see https://www.qrz.com/db/A60PC for the
QSL routes for the various suffix extensions). The special call-
sign's suffix stands for Pledge and Commitment, a national initia-
tive that brings together UAE citizens and residents to express
their loyalty to the nation, allegiance to its leadership, and
pride in the UAE's development journey and its humanitarian values.
D4 - Ger, EC1A will be active holiday style as D44EC from Sao Tiago (AF-
005), Cape Verde on 17-24 June. He will be QRV on 40-6 metres from
his main QTH in Praia (locator HK84), hopefully with a side trip to
Fogo Island (AF-005) to activate the locators HK75 and HK74. See
https://www.d44ec.ec1a.es/ for updates. QSL via EC1A; QSOs will be
uploaded to Club Log and LoTW.
DL - DQ40CNP is a special callsign to be in use between 12 June and 11
July to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl Nuclear
Power Plant disaster (26 April 1986). This activation also shines a
light on a lesser-known piece of history: the GDR (East Germany)
radio amateurs who discreetly used their stations to share informa-
tion and contribute to public health protection during the crisis.
QSL via DL1EAL; QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW, eQSL, DCL (DARC Com-
Community Logbook), QRZ, HRDLog and Club Log.
F - Michel, F8GGZ will be active as TM23CM (Coupe du Monde) on 11-25
June during the FIFA World Cup's group stage. QSL via eQSL.
HL - Team 6M6M will be active from Anmyon Island (AS-080, WWL PM36DQ) on
20-21 June. They will operate "all modes" on 6 metres only. QSL via
DS2GWM, direct or bureau.
JD1/O - Aki, 7M1KJW will be active holiday style as 7M1KJW/JD1 from Chichi-
jima (AS-031), Ogasawara between 13 and 16 June. He will operate
mainly FT8 on various HF bands and 6 metres: "the main goal this
time is to test a minimal setup and check out potential operating
locations", he says. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, or via the bureau.
OE - Bernhard, OE6HLF will be active as OE2026WM (Weltmeisterschaft,
i.e. World Championship) on 16-28 June, during the FIFA World Cup's
group stage featuring the Austrian national football team. QSL via
home call.
T8 - Nobu, JA0JHQ will be active again as T88PB from Koror (OC-009),
Palau on 19-22 June, with main activity during the CW leg of the
All Asian DX Contest. QSL via LoTW (preferred) or direct to JA0JHQ.
UA - A fifth island stop has been added to the "Arctic Legends 2026"
expedition itinerary [425DXN 1823]. The team will operate as RT25AA
from Cape Zhelaniya, Novaya Zemlya (EU-035), indicatively around 8
July. Bookmark https://www.rt9k-club.ru/en/index.html for updates.
VU4 - Sarath, VU2RS will be active as VU4R from Port Blair (AS-001), An-
daman Islands on 22-27 July. He will operate mainly SSB on 40-10
metres, and will participate in the OTA Contest. This will be a
preparatory trip and operation in anticipation of the main event,
which will take place on 17-30 December alongside the 49th SEANET
Convention. See https://www.dxindia.in/VU4R/ for more information.
W - This year's Youth on the Air summer camp for young radio amateurs
aged 15-25 in the Americas will be held in Huntsville, Alabama on
14-19 June. Campers will operate the special event station W4Y be-
tween sessions as well as during dedicated time slots (details on
https://www.qrz.com/db/W4Y). QSL via LoTW, or send requests to
KC3UII.

for Android. It is available on Google Play - free of charge, no ads. Enjoy!
3Y0K QSL STATUS UPDATE ---> "Things were progressing very well with the Bou-
vet QSL mailing until today [10 June]", M0OXO says, "when it became clear
from a package that arrived a few days ago that my stock of 4-sided (folded)
cards was way too low.
I had been on schedule to begin mailing cards early next week, but unfortu-
nately this will now needs to be delayed until the end of the month or the
first week of July. While I could proceed next week using the supply of sin-
gle (2-sided) cards, I feel that would be unfair to those who are expecting
the folded version. Therefore, I have decided to wait for the next batch of
folded cards to arrive from UX5UO before I mail them.
I understand that many of you will be as disappointed as am I, but regret-
tably this situation is beyond my control. Hopefully the new cards will be
waiting for me when I return from Friedrichshafen, and processing them will
then become my top priority.
Please do not ask me to bring cards to the Ham Fair in Germany, as that will
not be possible. Everyone will receive their cards at the same time - there
will be no favourites and no exceptions. I am sure you will understand and
appreciate the fairness of this approach".
MEME APPRECIATION MONTH 2026 ---> This is an amateur radio event by young
hams, to celebrate youth culture, "have some fun, use a cool callsign and do
a neat activity together" (https://mememonth.org/). This year's edition will
run between 15 June and 15 August, with announced participating stations
from Brazil (PQ5NOOB and PT5DOGE), Bulgaria (LZ01MIKU), Canada (VB2F and
VB3NAHIDA), England (GB0DOGE and GB0OTY), Germany (DL0LOL and DP6SEVEN), Is-
rael (4X0Y), Poland (SN0RLAX, SO2NIC, SP0FENNEC), Romania (YO0DA and YO0F),
Sweden (8S0D and SB1AHAJ), USA (K0K, K2V, K3K, K4B, K4F, K9CUM, N2U, W2F,
W8M), and maybe others. A certificate will be available for download on
https://hamawardz.app/.
NCDXF NEWSLETTER ---> The Spring 2026 issue of the Northern California DX
Foundation's Newsletter is now available for download on the NCDXF website:
https://www.ncdxf.org/pages/newsletter.html. Highlights include:
* "3Y0K - Bouvet Island. The Impossible Mission" by Ken Opskar, LA7GIA
* "3Y0K - Bouvet Island. A Youth's Perspective" by Max Freedman, N4ML
* "Opening the Door for All. Desecheo KP5/NP3VI & Remote DXpeditioning"
by Eric M. Guzman, NP3A
* "CY0S Running Wild on Sable Island" by Patrick Dolan, N2IEN
* "S21WD - Bangladesh 2026" by Philipp Springer, DK6SP
* "AU7RS - Agatti Island, Lakshadweep DXpedition" by Sarath Rayaprollu,
VU2RS
VP0SG ---> The VP0SG team, featuring operators from across Europe and North
America, recently met at the LN8W contest station. This preparatory session
allowed the team to test equipment, fine-tune operational plans, and address
critical logistics - such as camp and antenna assembly, biosecurity, safety,
and environmental compliance. The gathering also strengthened team cohesion
and morale ahead of their March 2027 DXpedition to South Georgia.
YASME FOUNDATION GRANTS ---> The Board of Directors of the Yasme Foundation
has announced two grants - one to Ashwin Mandary (3B8GL), to replace defec-
tive hardware for the Reverse Beacon Node (RBN) in Mauritius, and one to the
Korean Amateur Radio League in support of Youth On The Air (YOTA) activi-
ties. The Yasme Foundation (https://www.yasme.org) supports scientific and
educational projects related to amateur radio, with an emphasis on develop-
ing the hobby in emerging countries and encouraging youth participation.
